Easy to prepare and delicious
Ingredients
No. 1:
250 g soft margerine or butter
200 g sugar
1 packet of vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
No.2:
5 medium size organic eggs
No.3:
250 g wheat flour
3 teaspoons of baking powder
3 tablespoons milk substitute (I use almond milk) or milk
No.4:
2 tablespoons (vegan) cocoa powder
1 tablespoon milk substitute or milk
No. 5:
Icing sugar for sprinkling
Preparation
Stir ingredients from No. 1 until foamy
- it's really worth it! I have a mixer. With a hand mixer it's a little more work.
If the mixture is foamy (see picture), then gradually add ingredient from No. 2 and continue stirring.
Then add ingredients from No. 3 - I always sift the flour into the mixture. I tried wheat flour and also spelled flour - the cake with wheat flour is significantly moister and therefore my favorite.
Pour half of the light dough into a greased and floured baking pan - I didn't have a Gugelhupf-pan, a normal cake pan was OK too.
Mix the other half of the dough with the ingredients from No. 4 and then add it to the white mixture and mix sporadically.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees top-bottom heat or 160 degrees fan oven (in Fahrenheit 350 degree), bake the cake for about 50 minutes (I always check after 40 minutes whether there is still dough stuck to a long wooden stick that I stick into the cake. If not , then the cake is definitely ready to leave the oven).
When cooled, you can sprinkle the cake with a little powdered sugar - I left out the visually beautiful step to save a few calories :-).
I wish you fun and joy while preparing and eating!
